Roman equestrian, presumably from Arpinum, who was married to the sister of Cicero's mother Helvia [1]. V. was considered a connoisseur of civil law and was quite a close acquaintance of the rhetor L. Licinius [I 10] Crassus (Cic. De or. 1,191; 2,2; 2,262; Cic. Brut. 264).
