Description

This exhibition was part of nation-wide celebration by the American Jewish community of the first permanent Jewish community in North America, with the overall theme of “Man’s Opportunities and Responsibilities under Freedom”. President Dwight D. Eisenhower was guest of honor and keynote speaker at the opening event. Exhibitions, concerts, pageants, and public dinners took place in at least 400 cities around the country. The National Symphony was commissioned and premiered a symphony entitled “Ahavah”. Each of the major events received national television coverage, including televised specials on the American Jewish experience.
