With introductory essay “Pèlerins et artistes en Palestine au XIXe siècle” [Pilgrims and Artists in 19th-century Palestine] (Judith Spitzer), and excerpts from Chateaubriand’s “L’ Itinéraire de Paris à Jérusalem” [Itinerary from Paris to Jerusalem] (1806) and Lamartine’s “Voyage en Orient” [Visit to the Holy Land] (1832). Most of the exhibits were lent by the Israel Museum. Brief descriptions. 56 items.
