A two-part exhibition of 15th–16th-century printed Hebrew books. Part I: “The Flowering of Jewish Thought in the Sixteenth Century Represented by a Selection of Sixteenth-Century Hebrew Books” represented the intellectual and geographical diversity of Jewish thought in this century; Part II: “Selections from a Sixteenth-Century ‘Scholar’s Library’: Hebrew Classics Printed in the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Centuries” included volumes printed in the first half-century or so of Hebrew printing, texts which were likely to be in the libraries of 16th-century Jewish scholars.
