Detailed study of Danish Jewish history, in commemoration the 40th anniversary of the Danish effort to smuggle 7000 Jews out of Denmark. Catalog in two volumes. Volume 1 with an introduction by Norman L. Kleeblatt and Vivian B. Mann, essays on The History of the Jews in Denmark, 1622–1940 (Hanne Trautner-Kromann), The Occupation of Denmark (Jørgen H. Barfod), and the Jews’ Escape (Herbert Pundik), and detailed descriptions of Judaica, Paintings, Drawings, Prints and Documents (Susan Braunstein, Anita Friedman, and Irene Schenk). Volume 2 focuses on manuscripts and printed books, with an essay on the Royal Library’s Judaica and Hebraica, and individual catalog entries (both by Ulf Haxen). 89 items (vol. 1); 29 items (vol. 2).
