Medieval and modern antisemitism, presented in the broader context of Christian persecution of the “other” (most significantly those accused of sorcery). Three main sections: 1. Exclusion and Violence in the Middle Ages (including section on “The Jewish Hat and the Plague Pogroms”), 2. Persecution of Witches, and 3. The Failure of Enlightement (including the Holocaust). Descriptive entries. 185 items.

Description

The exhibition was organized jointly between three Hessian State Archives. After its initial showing, it became a traveling exhibition.
