Popular manuscripts, prints and objects illustrated with images of holy sites in the Land of Israel. Most of the items were produced to encourage Diaspora Jews to make financial contributions to the Holy Land’s Jewish community. Three essays: “Traditions of Holy Places in Medieval Palestine—Oral vs. Written” (Elchanan Reiner), “The illustrations of Yihus ha-Avot: Folk Art from the Holy Land” (Rachel Sarfati), and “Pictures of Holy Places as a Fundraising Aid” (Dov Genachowski).
