The origins, uses and popularity of the hamsa. Comments by collector William L. Gross. Introduction by Nitza Bahrouzi. Two essays: “The Judaization of the Khamsa” (Shalom Sabar), and “The Khamsa in Contemporary Israeli Society” (Hagit Matras). Exhibits included both amulets in the shape of the hamsa and a wide variety of Judaica objects on which the hamsa appears. 135 items. |
