A monumental study of the sacred and secular significance of bread in Jewish, Christian and Muslim traditions in Eretz Israel. Fourteen essays on various topics relating to bread, including bread in Jewish ritual and custom (Daniel Sperber), festive breads in Jewish tradition (Noam Ben-Yossef, Esther Juhasz), and “Ancient Jewish Bread Stamps” (David Amit).
