Description

One of several exhibitions on Jewish bookplates spawned by the project “Exlibris van Joden in Nederland” [Bookplates of the Jews in the Netherlands]. The project was initiated in 2004, and resulted in the finding and documentation of some 1500 examples of this genre. Exhibitions were held in various cities in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Enschede, Groningen and Middelburg), each time including a local theme to foster regional interest in the project. The current exhibition contained sections on the van Praag family and Philip van Praag’s collection of Ex Libris, now housed in the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana. Descriptive entries. Circa 50 items.
