Description

An exploration of self-perception and the perception of others, based on Freudian concepts related to dream analysis. Symbols, rituals, and objects from Moroccan Jewish tradition, which, like Freud, finds significant meaning in the interpretation of dreams, provided the material for this examination of personal identity and otherness. Exhibits arranged according to life cycle (birth, rites of passage, marriage, death), holidays (Yom Kippur, Pesach, Purim), henna ceremony, traditional medicine, dreams, etc., with Freudian ideas related to each. Most objects were from the Collection Dahan Hirsch. Circa 200 items.
