Description

One of two books published in conjunction with the exhibition “Dura Europos: Crossroads of Antiquity”. The exhibition’s initial showing in Boston provided a comprehensive historical overview of Dura-Europos, highlighted recent scholarship, and placed the city within its regional context. Its second showing, in New York City, focused on the linguistic, religious and cultural diversity of this Roman garrrison-city. 4 essays. Synagogue wall paintings discussed on pp. 47–49.
