Description

Jewish objects from the Museum’s collection that were exhibited until 1938 and then warehoused and forgotten during the Holocaust. After 73 years, these items have been returned to the exhibition room, having been researched by students in a seminar led by Birgit Johler and Barbara Staudinger. They were presented not as ceremonial objects, per se, but as a collection of “witnesses” to Jewish stories, issues of identification, museum practices, questionable acquisitions, etc. Descriptive entries. 20 items.
