A single catalog covering two exhibitions held at the Israel Museum, both dealing with depictions of North African Jewry from the mid-19th C until the 1920’s. The first section relates to the 2007 exhibition “Out of North Africa: Photographs of Jewish Life from the Gérard Lévy Collection” (Nissan N. Perez, curator, 27 March–30 June 2007), which showed how North African Jews were portrayed in Orientalist photographs.
