Description

Newly-discovered archaeological finds that evidence Jewish existence in the Roman provinces north of the Alps. These rare items provide long-sought archaeological proof of Jewish life in this region, which until now has been known largely from historical documents. Beginning in Rome and Jerusalem, the exhibition follows the trail of objects into Roman provinces in today’s Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, and the former Germania. Held in collaboration with Römisch-Germanischen Kommission and Archäologisches Museum Frankfurt am Main. No itemized listing.
