The history and archaeological remains of techelet blue, one of the world’s most precious colors, and its closely-related counterpart, argaman (royal purple). The exhibition traces the story of these prized colors in the ancient world: their mention in biblical and extra-biblical texts, association with royalty and divinity, natural sources, production, rediscovery in modern times, kabbalistic and amuletic meanings and usage, and symbolic use in the flag of the State of Israel.
