An attempt to delineate the area in which Jewish art of the past and contemporary art developing in Israel are drawing closer to one another. Emphasis is placed on the “Jewish trend” in contemporary Israeli art, and the role that Halacha, with its restrictions and strata, is playing in its current development. Description

This was one of five exhibitions that aimed to characterize and uncover themes central to contemporary Israeli art. The overriding framework of the series was the Havdalah ceremony. For the other four exhibitions, see #1882, #1911, #1912 and #1953.
