This poem describes the story of the death of Queen Kʻetʻevan, the mother of its author Tʻeimuraz I. After many years of imprisonment for political reasons, she was condemned to death by Shah ʿAbbās because she refused to convert to Islam. She was publicly executed in Shiraz in 1624.
