Subject: Monumental Inscriptions from the Biblical World; Akkadian Monumental Inscriptions; Building and Display Inscriptions; Late Old Babylonian Inscriptions

The name of year 33 of Hammu-rapi commemorates the digging of the canal named “Hammu-rapi is the abundance of the people.” This deed is commemorated in a stone foundation tablet which also describes the construction of “Fort-Sin-muballit” (Sin-muballit was Hammu-rapi’s father). The foundation tablet likely came from this fortress.
