Inscribed on a large stone stela discovered at Kurkh, this version of the annals of Shalmaneser III is identified by Schramm as Recension A ( EAK 2:70–72, 87–90). Since the text ends abruptly with the last narrated event being the battle of Qarqar (853 bce), the inscription seems to date from 853–852 bce.
