(Μωκισ(σ)ός, auch Mokesos, Iustinianupolis). Stadt in Kappadokia, in geschützter Bergposition um 520 n.Chr. von Iustinianus I. wieder errichtet (Prok. aed. 5,4,15); h. Viranşehir, südl. von Aksaray. Noch im 14. Jh. als Metropolitansitz belegt, aber wohl E. des 7. Jh. erneut verlegt.
