In the Bible Moses is the human mediator of revelation par excellence. His name occurs ca. 765 times in the OT (especially in Exod [290x]-Josh) and ca. 80 times in the NT (more frequently than the name of any other OT person, especially in reference to Moses as lawgiver and author of the Pentateuch) and is borne by no other biblical figure.
