ʿAbbās Ḥilmī II

ʿAbbās Ḥilmī II, son of Tawfīq Pasha, was the last khedive of Egypt (r. 1892–1914). He was born on 14 July 1874 in Alexandria. He studied under an English tutor until the age of six and then attended the ʿĀbidīn school, built by his father next to the ʿĀbidīn palace in Cairo, where he studied alongside other children of the country's ruling elite (ʿAbbās Ḥilmī, 56; Fahmī, 70).
