ʿAbd Allāh b. Lahīʿa

ʿAbd Allāh b. Lahīʿa, Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ʿAbd Allāh b. Lahīʿa b. ʿUqba al-Ḥaḍramī al-Ghāfiqī al-Uʿdūlī (96–174/715–790), was an Egyptian muḥaddith (traditionist) and qāḍī (judge). According to Ibn Saʿd, his father was ʿUqba b. Lahīʿa (7/516; cf. al-Bukhārī, al-Ḍuʿafāʾ, 69). In some sources he has a kunya, either Abū Kharīṭa or Abū al-Naḍr (Ibn Ḥibbān, 2/11–12; Ibn ʿAsākir, part 6, 422).
