Abū al-Shīṣ

Abū al-Shīṣ, Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Razīn al-Khuzāʿī (d. 196/812) was a poet during the early ʿAbbāsid period. He lived during the most brilliant period of Arabic poetry. All the sources that refer to him do so with reverence holding his poetry in high esteem. Nevertheless, his Dīwān is not so well known now, and there is little information about him.
