Abū al-Walīd al-Bājī

Abū al-Walīd al-Bājī, Sulaymān b. Khalaf b. Saʿd (Saʿdūn) b. Ayyūb b. Wārith (Dhū al-Ḥijja 403–474/June 1013–1081), was an eminent Mālikī theologian of al-Andalus who was born in Baṭalyaws (Badajoz). After his birth, his family moved to Bāja (modern Beja) and later settled in Córdoba. Abū al-Walīd himself settled down in the east of al-Andalus (al-Qāḍī ʿIyāḍ, 4/802).
