Abū Bakr Ṭihrānī, a court historian and secretary of the Qarā-qūyūnlū and Āq-qūyūnlū Turkoman dynasties of the 9th/15th century. Despite his fame, nothing is known of Abū Bakr's date of birth, early life or schooling. Whatever information there is on his life history can only be gleaned here and there from his work entitled Kitāb-i Diyārbakriyya, and there is no other known comparable source to enable the more obscure aspects of his life to be clarified.
