Al-Baḥrānī, Abū al-Ḥasan Jamāl al-Dīn (or Kamāl al-Dīn) ʿAlī b. Sulaymān al-Sitrāwī al-Baḥrānī, was a Shiʿi philosopher, theologian and ḥadīth transmitter of the 7th/13th century. Not very much is known about his life, but from his surname, it is evident that he came from the town of Sitra on one of Bahrain’s islands, where it is also likely he undertook his studies.
