al-Bākharzī, Abū al-Ḥasan (or Abū al-Qāsim) ʿAlī b. al-Ḥasan al-Bākharzī (d. 467/1075) was a bilingual Iranian writer, poet and biographer of poets from the town of Bākharz which lies between Nīsābūr and Herat (cf. Yāqūt, al-Buldān, 1/376). In his biographical work, al-Udabāʾ, Yāqūt adds al-Sinkhī to his name (13/33).
