al-Bazzī, Abū al-Ḥasan Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Abī Bazza (170–250/786–864), the first transmitter of Ibn Kathīr al-Makkī’s recital, one of the ‘Seven Readers’ (al-qurrāʾ al-sabʿa) of the Qurʾān, and the leading authority on the reading (qirāʾa) of the Qurʾān (Shaykh al-qurrāʾ ) in Mecca.
