Farīghūnids (Āl-i Farīgh)

Farīghūnids (Āl-i Farīgh), a minor dynasty of emirs of Iranian origin that ruled Gūzgān (or Jawzjān) and its surroundings from 279/892 until 401/1010.  They were vassals of the Sāmānids (r. 204–395/819–1005) until they were removed by Sultan Maḥmūd of the Ghaznawid dynasty (r. 367–583/977–1187).
