Albufera

(Portuguese: Albuera, variants Albufeira, Albuera; from Arabic al-buḥaira, small sea, lake) is the name of a lagoon near Valencia, the Palus Naccararum of the ancients. Part of it has been drained both with the alluvium and by artificial means, and is now used for growing rice.
