1. General
There are three distinct areas in Turkey where Arabic dialects are spoken:

- The coastal region of the Eastern Mediterranean from Hatay (Antakya) to Mersin and Adana; all the Arabic dialects spoken in this region are linguistically part of the Syrian Arabic dialect area (Cilician Arabic).
