Sino-Islamic linguistics comprises the study of the spoken and written traditions of the Chinese-speaking Muslims Huí 回 (Huízú 回族, Huíhuí mínzú 回回民族). Islam and Arabic were introduced into China by land in the northwest and by sea in the southeast beginning from the Táng Dynasty (618–907).
