1. Definition

Historical and modern usages of the word coach vary in meaning. Here, coach is used as a generic term for a wagon with one or two axles and sprung suspension, used to convey passengers  (Passenger transportation) and generally drawn by horses. The term coach is derived from the German Kotschi(wagen), via the MF coche, and may originally be related to the name of the Hungarian town of Kocs.
