1. General

Traditionally early modern architecture created by engineers involved projects serving the transportation system, warfare, commerce and industry, the water supply (Hydraulic engineering), and mining. Engineering geology constituted a sub-area: investigation of the stability and loading capaciy of construction sites, with additional demands in mining.
