1. German Heirat

The German word Heirat (“marriage”) is in part used synonymously with Eheschließung (“nuptials”; Marriage, contraction of) and Hochzeit (“wedding”). Under Heirat many earlier encyclopedias merely provide references to these parallel terms [2].
