In the early modern period, celebrations of peace were associated primarily with the Peace of Westphalia[3. 88 f.]. In the period from 1648 to 1660, 204 peace celebrations have been identified in Europe, 180 of them in the Old Empire [6. 105], while strangely the Peace of Westphalia was scarcely acknowledged publicly in France.
