1. Definition

The Peace of Westphalia, signed on October 24, 1648, in Münster ended the Thirty Years’ War. Formally it was a peace treaty of Emperor Ferdinand III and the Imperial Estates with Queen Christina of Sweden and King Louis XIV of France.
