1. General

Poor Conrad was the name adopted by a conspiratorial league (Bund) of rebellious peasants and members of the urban lower and middle classes in Württemberg in the 16th century; it was the vehicle for a resistance movement to which it also lent its name, which spread to extensive areas of the duchy in 1514 [4].
