The Spanish Road (Italian cammino degli spagnoli, French chemin des Espagnols) was the name given to the developed land route from the Spanish possession in northern Italy (Duchy of Milan) over the Western Alps to the Netherlands, with fortified stretches and victualing stations (stages).
