The Standesherren, known in English as the Mediatized Houses, comprised a category in the constitutional law of the German Confederation (1815–1866) and its member states. That constitution granted a limited continued elevated status to those secular imperial princes and counts whose territories had been mediatized by the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 [2. 317–375] (Mediatization).
