The Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana is one of Europe's largest libraries in the field of Jewish culture and history. Founded by Leeser Rosenthal (1794-1868) and donated by his heirs, it became part of the University of Amsterdam Library in 1880. The Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana contains approximately 120,000 items including manuscripts, incunabula, early printed books, periodicals, reference books, broadsides, prints, pictures, ephemera, and archives.
