This is the title of a short story by the author S. Yizhar (1916–2006), dating from 1949. At the center of its plot is the conquest of the fictional Arabic town of Ḥirbet Ḥizʿah, and the expulsion of its inhabitants by the Israeli military in that war between 1947 and 1949 commemorated in Israel as the War of Independence, and by the Palestinians as a national catastrophe (nakbah).
