André Nahum (1921–2015) was born in Tunis and graduated Lycée Carnot High School. Immediately following his graduation, on the eve of World War II, he emigrated to France to study medicine, but during one of his vacations in Tunis war was declared, and his parents refused to allow his return to Paris. He instead continued his studies at the University of Algiers and after the war returned to complete his studies in Paris. He married, and in 1951 returned to Tunis with his wife and two children, …
