André Nahum (1921–2015) was born in Tunis and graduated Lycée Carnot High School. Immediately following his graduation, on the eve of World War II, he emigrated to France to study medicine, but during one of his vacations in Tunis war was declared, and his parents refused to allow his return to Paris.
