Manūchehr Omidvār was born in 1925 in Ahvāz to parents who came from Isfahan. He graduated from the American College of Tehran in 1943 and then earned a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Law, Political and Economic Sciences of the same institution in 1950. Afterwards he enrolled in the Faculty of Letters, University of Tehran, graduating with a B.A. in Persian language and literature in 1957.
