The notion
The term “lexicalization” is used in linguistics with a range of different meanings, among which the following two are the most prominent.
The term is used to refer to the realization in a certain language of a certain concept with a single word, as well as to the question of what grammatical properties this word will have (e.g., Talmy 1985).
