Participles, Constructions with

Slavic participles (verb forms that can be used for adnominal modification) are highly multifunctional. In modern languages, they occur in a wide range of clause-linkage constructions, such as restrictive and nonrestrictive relative clauses, depictive secondary predications, and nonfinite complement clauses. In some older varieties, they were also used in the dative absolute construction with the meaning of attendant circumstance.
