The article provides an overview of what is known about linguistic phenomena due to contacts between Slavic and Turkic languages. The hypothesis of Turkic contacts of the Pre-Slavic language is disputed; some new data are given regarding the oldest Turkic–Slavic contacts as well as an outline of the structural consequences of such contacts.
