Breastfeeding: Turkey

Breastfeeding in Turkey has been handled as a part of the medical profession rather than as a social or cultural issue. Although there are several articles on breastfeeding from a medical/health or development studies perspective, it is difficult to find in-depth information from an anthropological/sociological angle. Recognizing that there is now a corpus of feminist work that theorizes the female body, sometimes termed corporeal feminism, it is necessary to relay information from women's point of view grounded in both an anthropological and a sociological framework.
